The 4th of July will be here soon. Here's a guide to area happenings including parades, festivals & fireworks!


Coca-Cola® July 4th Fest at Six Flags Over Georgia
July 3 to July 6

From July 3 to July 6, Six Flags Over Georgia will be honoring the annual Independence Day tradition with an amazing fireworks show every night!  Bring a can of Coca-Cola and enjoy admission to the park one hour early. Also enjoy the 4th Fest Foam Party multiple times daily, and stop by the Coke Cool Zone to participate in fun, festive activities! Enjoy a VIP Picnic at Hurricane Harbor - purchase a special VIP package and you’ll enjoy special privileges at Hurricane Harbor. You’ll get to stay at the water park later to have more slide time and watch the fireworks light up over the Calypso Bay Wave Pool. Fourth of July Celebration at Centennial Park

Featuring the Southeast’s biggest fireworks show, the Fourth of July Celebration at Centennial Olympic Park includes a variety of food trucks and a special set by DJ Yvonne Monet. The fireworks show will begin at 9:45 p.m. Visitors under 17 years of age are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian 25 years of age or older at all times.

Chastain Park July 4th Parade and Festival

The Chastain Park Civic Association invites you to celebrate our nation’s independence at the annual Chastain Park July 4th Parade.  Come join the neighborhood as we parade down W. Wieuca Road in this treasured Chastain tradition! We have a very exciting event planned, and hope to see you and your family stepping out in your patriotic best. Decorate your bikes, strollers, golf carts, and selves to score bragging rights for the adults – and prizes for the youngsters!

BBQ & Bluegrass at Barrington Hall - Roswell

Enjoy barbecue and bluegrass music in the backyard of Barrington Hall from 11am to 4pm. The King family, who built Barrington Hall, held a 4th of July barbecue for their friends and neighbors in the 1800s. Revisit their tradition with live music, barbecue, beer, soft drinks and desserts for sale. A children's area will keep the youngsters occupied with games and crafts. Enjoy this laid back and musical 4th of July celebration.

Roswell 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza

The 20th Annual Roswell Fireworks Extravaganza will be held at Roswell High School on the front lawn from 5:30pm to 10pm. This wonderful Roswell tradition is a great family event filled with live stage performances, a Kids Zone and great food! You won't want to miss Roswell's largest community celebration! Bring your picnic blankets, chairs, and the entire family. However, dogs are not allowed at this event. (Roswell High is a drug, alcohol and tobacco free school).

City of Sandy Springs Annual Stars and Stripes Celebration

It’s become a much-anticipated tradition, and on Thursday, July 4, 2019, the Sandy Springs community will gather at the Concourse Corporate Center lawn to celebrate the nation’s birthday as part of the City’s Stars and Stripes Celebration. Music from the band Bogey & The Viceroys will begin at 7:30 pm and fireworks will dazzle the sky beginning at 9:45 pm. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and enjoy an evening under the stars. Pets, tents, outdoor cooking, drones, alcohol, and personal-use sparklers will not be permitted.

City of Chamblee July 4th Celebration

This event is full of fun for the entire family and includes one of the best fireworks shows around. There will be live music, food and activities for the family from 5pm to 10pm.

Dunwoody 4th of July Parade
July 4

The Dunwoody Homeowners Association and the Dunwoody Crier Newspaper will host the annual Fourth of July Parade featuring marching bands, floats, clowns, animal units and local celebrities. We anticipate the parade will attract over 2,500 participants and 30,000 spectators! The parade starts at All Saints Catholic Church and marches down Mt. Vernon Road to Dunwoody Village.

Fireworks in the Fourth Ward

The Old Fourth Ward Business Association and Ponce City Market is excited to announce it's second annual Fireworks in the Fourth Ward Celebration! Free and open to the public, the community event will be held across the street from Ponce City Market at Historic Fourth Ward Park from 5pm to 11pm. Over 20 Food Trucks; local vendors from O4W Businesses; Live rock cover band Sucker Punch; DJ Q-Tip; and Atlanta's best Fireworks celebration right off the Beltline! Attendees are encouraged to bike, walk, or use a ride share service to and from the event.

4th of July in Decatur and Pied Piper Parade

Celebrate the 4th in Decatur with parade, music and fireworks. The Pied Piper Parade will make its way through downtown Decatur on July 4. Gather friends and family, ride your bike, walk or skate in this community parade it's for anyone and everyone! Parade lineup is at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairemont Ave. Pedestrians should gather on the lawn and vehicles will line up in the parking lot. The parade begins at 6 p.m. The Concert on the Square starts at 7 p.m. in the Community Bandstand and features the Callanwolde Concert Band. Fireworks begin at dark (approximately 9 p.m.).

Marietta 2019 Fourth in the Park Celebration

The City of Marietta's 4th in the Park Celebration begins Thursday, July 4, 2019 at 10:00am and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale. Musical entertainment includes Scott Thompson, the Atlanta Concert Band, Chris Stalcup, and A1A (Jimmy Buffet Tribute Show). The Marietta Let Freedom Ring Parade includes 110 entries, 2,000 participants and an estimated 30,000 spectators.

4th of July Celebration at Children's Museum of Atlanta

Children's Museum of Atlanta is having a positively patriotic party. Join them for 4th of July fun: follow Uncle Sam in a musical parade, create your own fireworks art, and visit Professor Labcoat at the Science Bar to see what happens when we mix together the colors of our flag and learn a little about firework science! While you're visiting, be sure to grab a seat in front of the CMA stage to learn the words to some of our country's treasured songs.

20th Annual Celebrate America Fireworks Extravaganza at The Rock Ranch

The Rock Ranch, a 1,500-acre family-fun destination founded by the late S. Truett Cathy of Chick-fil-A, will host its 20th Annual Celebrate America event on Saturday, June 29. The farm invites the public to enjoy a massive fireworks show at dark, with over 25 unique family fun attractions to entertain all ages throughout the afternoon and evening. The event begins at 2 p.m. and will be complete after the fireworks around 9:45 p.m. Included attractions are locomotive train, pony rides, paddle boats, pedal carts, a carousel, Tiny Town children’s playhouse village, petting zoo, slide hill, sports zone and speed pitch, gemstone museum and fossil dig, corn bin, cane pole fishing, cow train, giant jumping pillow, cow bounce and more.


Dahlonega 4th of July Celebration

Have a blast this 4th of July in Georgia's most patriotic mountain town. Pack up your lawn chairs and blankets and head on up to Dahlonega, only an hour’s drive north of Atlanta, for a full day of exciting activities and events that the entire family will enjoy! Arrive early to compete in the Firecracker 5K. The rest of the day will be filled with a Patriotic Ceremony, the Dahlonega Car Club Car Show, and Patriotic Parade. After a full day of fun in the sun, head down to the drill field at the University of North Georgia to watch one of the best fireworks displays in North Georgia.
