We're back from vacation (well obviously!). We had an AMAZING trip - first to Venice, followed by our cruise from Venice to Rome on Crystal Cruises, and ending with two days to explore Rome before flying home. Without the kids! On May 19th, 2013, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition will be offering the city a chance to participate in a coordinated cultural experience along a 2.7-mile stretch of Peachtree Street from 2PM-6PM during Atlanta Streets Alive.

The BB&T Atlanta Open will host tryouts for ball persons Monday, May 20, and Wednesday, May 22, at the Carl E. Sanders Family YMCA at Buckhead. The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is the primary charitable beneficiary of this year’s tournament.

Worth a trip! It's time for the 23rd annual Marietta Greek Festival. The event celebrates Greek traditions, culture and delicious Greek food.  A wide variety of Greek food will be available for purchase. The Hellenic Dance Program will be performing throughout the festival. The program is comprised of six dance groups that cover pre-k through 12th grade as well as a young adult group. The event also features a Greek marketplace with more than 20 vendors with items including Greek jewelry, handmade linens, scarves, Greek cuisine, Greek cookbooks, art, oil paintings, candle holders, wood crafted items and more.

Concerts are free with paid parking all three days of the event. Each day concludes with the Lasershow Spectacular in Mountainvision® followed by special patriotic fireworks set to honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. Macaroni Menu

Serves 6   Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
8 oz box of your favorite pasta… I used thin spaghetti. Angel hair would be great too!
1-1/2 cups of cherry tomatoes, halved
3 teaspoons olive oil
1-1/2 lb fresh medium shrimp, peeled, deveined and tails removed
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon of Kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons chopped basil
